INTERVIEW
WITH ANDRE WALKER (Wednesday, November 3, 2004 - Milwaukee, WI USA) The last time Denver, Colorado's Andre “The Silencer” Walker fought in Milwaukee, he finished tied for third in the February 2002 Heavyweight Gladiators 8-man K-1 USA Qualifier. He doesn't want the same result this time. Only a Gladiators Championship would satisfy him. The 5-time Toughman Champion possesses more than enough power to put an opponent to sleep with either hand. I say watch out Mr. Sandman, someone might be after your job. Andre was eager to discuss his upcoming appearance in Milwaukee, November 13th. Brian Smith: What is your fighting style? Andre “The Silencer” Walker: "Kickboxing." B. Smith: What will be your strategy for winning the “King of the Gladiators" tournament? What do you consider your biggest weapon? The Silencer: "A lot more boxing 'till the finals and then I’ll use everything. I won’t take much of a chance with kicks in the earlier bouts as to protect myself. When you kick you leave yourself open. I plan on using my knees a lot. My biggest weapon is my jab and my power." B. Smith: What do plan for your first round opponent, Mike Sheppard? The Silencer: "I don’t like to know so that way if they change up it doesn’t put me in a bad situation. I just like to be prepared for everything." B. Smith: How do you feel about K-1, Heavyweight Gladiators and other 8-man events? The Silencer: "Love em. I think its great and I like the way Duke puts them on all the time because there’s not a lot of heavyweight kickboxing out there even though it’s growing sport." B. Smith: What was your biggest fight? Your biggest accomplishment? The Silencer: "When I fought Kurt Hasley in Milwaukee. That was an accomplishment in itself. It was a loss though, but I taught myself something and that’s never to get in the ring again out of shape." B. Smith: How did you earn your fight name? The Silencer: "They say I am real quiet, but I but people to sleep.”
