INTERVIEW WITH MARK MILLER
BY STAFF CORRESPONDENT BRIAN SMITH

)10.19.04) The man comes straight ahead. Mark “The Shark” Miller fought on K-1 USA 2000, K-1 USA 2001 and K-1 World Elimination 2001 all held in Las Vegas (NV), and in the K-1 2002 North American Elimination 8-Man Tournament in Milwaukee (WI).

Miller is ranked 8th in the IKF pro Heavyweight division. “The Shark” comes to the Heavyweight Gladiators Professional 8-Man Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament in Milwaukee with more than just a tough “Iron City” attitude. He’ll be bringing experience with a bite.

Brian Smith: What is your fighting style?

Mark “The Shark” Miller: "Kickboxing."

B. Smith: What will be your strategy for the Heavyweight Gladiators “King of the Gladiators Tournament? What do you consider your biggest weapon?

The Shark: "Utilizing my experience. Go in there and do my thing. There will be three guys in front of me. I gotta take out those three guys."

B. Smith: What do you know about your first round opponent?

The Shark: "Not that much. I’m not that concerned. My job is to fight and beat whoever I fight."

B. Smith: How do you feel about K-1, Heavyweight Gladiators and other 8-man events?

The Shark: "It’s a necessary evil, you know. I’m not a fan of it, to be honest, but that’s the way it goes. With K-1 and tournaments like that, if you win, you get to fight again in a half-hour. You have to pace yourself."

B. Smith: How did you get your name?

The Shark: "My trainer gave me the name. He told me one day that when I fight in the ring and hurt somebody, I’m like a shark in water. Plus, I guess it rhymes."

B. Smith: Why do you fight?

The Shark: "I enjoy it and I am good at it."
